Nice podcast, even with a slightly smaller cast this time.
I’d have to say One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Kesey (along with Sometimes a Great Notion) would be my top picks from Banned Books List entries. Also, if we’re talking classics, then Invisible Man and Catcher in the Rye, two memorable reads from way back in High School are worth noting (and reading).
I’d definitely say times have chaged, given the niches, genres and wide array of reading choices that have blossomed over the last several years…
That is – changed. No edit option:(
Ann Patchett was my fav. literary award winner – her talk on Saturday after the gala was really excellent.
Come to think of it, David McCullough was really good too.
Salon 615 definitely in high gear in October!
There were so many book related things in October still didn’t mention a few:
1) SOUTHERN FESTIVAL OF BOOKS – many events will be happening at the Main Library as well as the Capital.

2) Handmade & Bound – N-ville’s own handmade book & zine festival was last weekend. I feel doubly sour we didn’t mention this one as Liz was there giving out schwag and promoting the Wilson Collection. Which you can learn more about here: http://nashvillepubliclibrary.org/wilsonbookarts/
Thanks for listening!
